Come and stay in our beautiful self-catering cottage situated within the grounds of our 50 acre farm. A holiday cottage, with so much more to offer than just accommodation!
We raise many different animals on the farm including pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. Many of these are rare or very old breeds which we are actively trying to promote and conserve. Included in your stay is access to our farm walk (Opening late Spring 2019). For more information see ‘Farm Walk’ in the main menu. Also included in your stay is a private guided farm tour (optional and subject to availability), where we will take you round the farm to meet, feed and pet the animals and give you a more personal, up close farm experience. For more details of what this includes please see ‘Farm Tour’ in the main menu. If you would like to collect your eggs fresh from the coop each morning, you can have your very own chickens located outside of the cottage for the duration of your stay for a small daily charge of 5 euros. We will provide you with the grain to feed your chickens each morning and in return they will provide you with freshly laid eggs for your breakfast each day!
Our farm produce:
We produce free-range pork, lamb, eggs, fruit and vegetables (all season and availability dependent) so, if you wish, you will be able to purchase your food directly from the farm. Please see ‘farm-shop’ for more information. We can also provide you with a great catalogue of other local producers where you can buy directly from local farms, including delicious cheeses, cider, juices, jams, honeys, soaps and more!
We are located on the outskirts of the village, 800m away from the village bakery where you can buy your bread and croissants fresh every day (except monday). The village also has a post office, bar and hairdressers. We are within the stunning Normandy Maine National Park, bordered by the forest, in an ideal location to access the GR22 (which passes directly through our village) and many other routes for walking, cycling and horse riding. We are on the border of Normandy and Mayenne, two areas of France with so much to offer. There are countless places to visit and things to do in the area including Chateaus and castles, rivers and lakes, animal parks and zoos, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking, the famous horse displays at La Michaudière, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, horse racing and much more. La Ferte Mace is less than a 20 minutes drive away and has a beautiful swimming lake where you can go fishing, hire bicycles to cycle around the lake, go paddle boarding, hire pedalos and enjoy an ice cream or crepe by the lake. There is also a golf course and a horse riding centre next to the lake and many large supermarkets, shops and great restaurants. Bagnoles de L’Orne, the famous Spa town is just 25 minutes away and has spas, a golf course, fantastic restaurants and gorgeous boutique shops, a cinema and a casino on the beautiful lake.
