Opening late Spring 2019
De La Terre is set within 50 acres of beautiful countryside on the border of Normandy and Pays de la Loire, France. We have created a farm walk for you to come and enjoy our natural surroundings, whilst having the opportunity to see and learn about the animals and wildlife. We have picnic areas for you to take time to relax, eat your lunch and watch the animals.
As your walk takes you around the land, you will come across our rare breed pigs, such as the Mangalitsa ‘sheep pigs’ which are the only woolly pigs in the world. Often there will be piglets to see, which are always a pleasure to sit and watch. You will be able to see the sheep grazing in the fields, including the Ouessant’s, a native breed to France, which are one of the smallest breeds of sheep in the world and if you visit in Spring the lambs are a wonderful sight to see. Our goats are great fun to watch, and love nothing more than playing up on the walls of their ruin. We have a wide variety of poultry including chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowl and during summer months we often have small chicks and ducklings around. There are areas created specially for wildlife to encourage and protect native animals such as hedgehogs and bats.
Access to the farm walk is free for our staying guests but a small charge is applied to the general public. Please contact us for more information or to book a visit.
